Try A Great Chianti That Wine Spectator Magazine Gave 91pts and Calls it A "Smart Buy"
It Was Also on The Top 100 list in WS Magazine in 2005
And Now Again in The Top 100 of 2007
91 points - Wine Spectator
88 points - International Wine Cellar
An enticing, rather pronounced ruby red, edged with garnet. Its suite of fragrances exhibits considerable complexity, opening to dark fruit such as plum and blackcurrant, then enriched by a pungent spiciness that betrays cinnamon and clove. The attack offers dense, impressive pulp, and fine-grained tannins that marry beautifully with its alcohol; the result is a solidly-built, but not heavy or extractive, wine with a seamless, long-lingering finish.

"It is ripe and elegant, with more minerality...as well as a distinctive terroir, wet stone, volcanic character. Although earthy, the fruit dominates, revealing notes of lemon blossom, orange marmalade, and a hint of ripe apples. A delicious offering with loads of personality, it can be drunk as an aperitif, or served with poultry or seafood dishes."

Winemaker Robert Egelhoff is a viticulturalist from the Napa Valley with over 20 years of professional experience in the California wine industry. Mr. Egelhoff's credentials include positions with the following companies; Beckstoffer Vineyards, Harlan Estate, Pahlmeyer Winery and Merryvale Vineyards. Mr. Egelhoff has extensive experience with premium custom winemaking and has coordinated production activities for over a dozen nationally marketed brands.
Aside from his importer/distributor company,
Kalaris decided to put what he learned about the wine business to good use. With the advice of Bill Harlan and other reputable Napa growers, Kalaris started his own winery, Axios, in 1998, and positioned it as a premium Napa brand. Axios produces three wines: Axios, a "super cuvee" limited production 100% Cabernet Sauvignon; Worthy, a "mid level" Cabernet blend; and the Truth, a value Cabernet Syrah blend.
Our Store is proud to carry their "Worthy" and "Truth" Lindsey's Cuvee with the MC Escher Label
The Truth "Lindsey's Cuvee" is made from 52% Knights Valley Cabernet, 38% Sonoma County Syrah and 10% Napa Valley Syrah, with both Syrahs from old vines. The Truth “Lindsey's Cuvee” has beautiful, ripe, spicy dark currant and berry aromas, with a traces of pepper. On the palate, the wine's focused acidity conveys an overall impression of incredibly silky, sweetly ripe fruit. The tannins are substantial but soft, and there's quality evident of a wine costing two or three times the price. Pair this mouthful of ripe Cab and Syrah fruit with steaks, burgers and red meat fare.

Luce was the first wine ever produced in Montalcino by blending Sangiovese and Merlot grapes.
Combining the roundness and suppleness of Merlot with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese seems an obvious idea, but it took two well established winemakers, Lamberto Frescobaldi and Tim Mondavi, to do that in the land of the world renowned Brunello di Montalcino, a wine made strictly from 100% Sangiovese.

An Interesting White
That Was #96 On The Top 100 Wines of 2004
Wine Spectator's List
Feudi di San Gregorio
Falanghina Sannio 2003
90 POINTS
Country: Italy
Region: Campania
Aromas of lemons and rhubarb turn to minerals, melons, and honey. Medium- to full-bodied, with lovely acidity and a long, ripe fruit aftertaste.
The 100% Falanghina grapes are picked by hand and transported to the winery by refrigerated truck. Bunches are individually sorted and then gently crushed. Only the "free run" juice is used for the wine; the rest is sold off in bulk. The wine goes through a long, low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tank for twenty-eight days. This process promotes fresh fruit and floral aromas and flavors in the wine, as well as rich textures on the palate.
Like a fine Albariño or Mâcon, the 2003 Feudi Falanghina Sannio DOC has unmistakable mineral aromas that leap to your nose from the glass. There’s a flinty, grassy, wet stones quality along with the minerals, and this grows into dried apricots, white flowers and stone fruits. There is a pure, bright fruit attack, then on the palate there are ripe pear, melon and light honey flavors. Zippy acidity balances the bright fruit with just a touch of residual sugar. The minerals linger for a long while, with a note of white pepper. For anyone who loves the essential character of excellent dry white wines, this is a mouthful. Pair this with seafood, chicken (roasted, grilled or cold), pasta and Asian food. This bottle is a great value, especially given the aroma/flavor punch it packs.

Duca Enrico Nero d'Avola
Of Sicily's native varietals, Nero d'Avola (also called Calabrese) has gained in popularity the fastest in America, receiving rave reviews from such notable publications as Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Condé Nast Traveler, Business Week and Time. Nero d'Avola is a bluish-purple grape with a delightfully ripe fruit flavor and earthy after-tones. Duca Enrico is a stunning example of the quality of wine that can come from this grape; a deep garnet colored wine with ruby highlights produced from 100 percent hand-picked Nero d'Avola. This wine has bold flavors of wild cherry, smoke and spice, with a slight trace of sea spray in the finish and can be stored under proper conditions for up to 10 years. Duca Enrico is the flagship wine of Duca di Salaparuta, an esteemed and historic winery founded in 1824 by Prince Guiseppe Alliata. In the last several years, the winery underwent a modernization process under the guidance of renowned winemaker Carlo Casavecchia, which not only brought it into the 21st Century, but also raised the bar for other Sicilian wineries.

The 2004 Cotes du Crow's is a blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah. The color is a deep ruby/purple, and the bouquet reveals plenty of sweet cranberry and licorice scents. Hayman & Hill
Cabernet Sauvignon
Delicious black cherry prevails over subtle herbal notes. Just a touch of licorice and menthol float in to complete the package. A full bodied red with medium-high drying tannins and a rich, delicious, lingering finish.
Hayman & Hill is a Collaboration between two veteran winemakers: David Hayman and Dennis Hill. Hayman has 17 vintages under his belt, including five in Australia where he oversaw production at nearly a dozen Hardy's wineries across the country.
His efforts became much more focused when he moved to Sonoma County and began directing the winemaking for the acclaimed Blackstone Winery. The Blackstone Merlot, incidentally, is one of the most popular merlots.
Hill has been crafting fine wines for a quarter-century, including stints at some of Sonoma County's top estates. He joined Blackstone Winery in 1994, and with Hayman developed the wine style that has been such a hit with consumers.
While Blackstone remains their “bread and butter,” Hayman and Hill both had a desire to craft some limited-edition, appellation-specific wines, and that's how the Hayman & Hill label came to be.

100 Years of History
The Ruffino winery was founded in Italy more than 100 years ago when two cousins with little background in wine began mining the region's riches. Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino established I.L. Ruffino winery in 1877, purchasing raw wine from local growers (and producing some wine themselves), cellaring, finishing, bottling the wine, and selling it under the Ruffino name.
They met with near-instant success - their Chianti began winning gold-medal awards within four years. Throughout Italy and abroad, the name Ruffino quickly became associated with quality Chianti.
Our Store carries a wide variety of Ruffino Label products from $9.99-$84.99

2003 Cline Red Truck
